Anyway, authentic Southwestern atmospherics add a touch of realism to this gritty tale of bad guys on the run from the law. However, both the law (here represented by a masturbating sheriff) and the outlaws are so busy screwing, it seems highly improbable that they will ever cross paths at all. And, in fact, they don't. The bad guys are brought down by poetic justice or fate (which is an abstraction and therefore has no sex scenes). The gals in the gang are white trash and sexy as hell, and their fucking and sucking are in the finest white-trash tradition. "Oh, wow," drawls one, "You are lookin' at a completely fucked girl!" The getaway is to Tampico, but the getaway boat blows up in the gulf, and that's what the Deviate calls getting "completely fucked."

Eagle-eyed adult film fans will also notice a rare early appearance from adult film starlet, Rene Bond! (My note: she's in the Talc. scene)Brief Review: This is one wacky film relic. If you made a check list of all the camp ingredients you would want in a retro mondo sex movie doc, you would end up with REFINEMENTS IN LOVE. Phony sex institute acknowledgements? Check. Thematic folk songs with pointed lyrics? Check. Movie THEME complete with string orchestra? Check. Weird credits (as in they don;t appear until 45 minutes into the movie! That must be some kind of record...) Check. Verite footage of sex movie premiere circa 1970? Check. Interview with director ludicrously superimposed on a TV as if it is being featured on the "news"? Check. Bogus sweaty doctor using unorthodox methods to cure a frigid female? Check. Talcum powder sex scene? Check. Wildly inflated claim of social importance to sexual freedom? (hint: atomic explosion as negative result). Check. Mind-stopping narration by celebrltiy? Check. Early uncredited appearance by legendary sex kitten? Check. I could go on but you get the idea. This one is truly packed with entertainment value. Plus it is actually an interesting document of that era (besides the laughs), and last but not least, it delivers the goods skin-wise too.

Mika is approached by Guy Royer and immediately gets him to go down on her. Nearby, and watched closely by Jacques Gatteau, Nicole Segaud is giving head to Richard Lemieuvre who is dressed as an Arab. A mature-ish brunette (XNK0561) then does a strip in front of the rest of the patrons (who include Hubert Geral) and an orgy develops, but Carolyn remains aloof and soon leaves alone. Sitting alone against a gravestone in a churchyard, Carolyn daydreams of going down into the crypt and finding three men there and being forced to have sex with them (Jean-Pierre Armand, Dominique Aveline and one unidentified). Finally, her boredom with her husband reaches breaking point and she leaves their breakfast table, walks out of the house and drives off to the garage where their other car is being repaired. The garage manager shows her to the ramp and explains progress on the work. Her progress through the large garage is watched by the mechanics present and as the ramp is raised, one of them approaches and looks up her skirt. She is wearing a loose but belted white dress and nothing underneath. As the manager moves away and the other mechanics approach, she raises her dress. Then the ramp is lowered and the camera stays on her body as this happens, and her erect nipples are evident. She walks away, but stops at another car, pushes down it's bonnet and lays back on it, raising her skirt and inviting them to join her. A gang bang follows. The slow build up of this scene is very erotic, but it could certainly have been better shot and edited. On the whole, however, a very good porn film, with a fair amount of tease and the concentration on one central female character that is now so rare in porn. --The above review from Egafd mistakenly gives Julia Perrin as the central character, and although the Egafd credits now show Carolyn Grace instead of Julia, the review has not yet been updated to change Julia's name to Carolyn's, so i made the appropriate changes here.
